Located within the Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, DE. 19958
Originally, Fort Miles was an Army facility built to defend the region’s coastline and protect ships from enemy German fire in the Delaware Bay. The Fort Miles Museum’s impressive artifact collection allows guests to learn the ways in which past generations employed state-of-the-art technology to protect our country.
The state park is open daily from 8 a.m. until sunset. COVID restrictions are still in place as of this writing (03/17/2021). This means that any indoor areas within the state parks are still closed, including the museum at this location; however, all of the outdoor artillery is still available for viewing.
