Between 1820 and 1952, 179 lightships were built. Only 17 of those lighsthips remain, of which Lightship Overfalls is one. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011, it is also one of only seven lightships in the USA which are still open to the public. It is truly a local and national treasure!
Tours of the ship as well as the store and museum will resume on May 22nd pursuant to guidance associated with COVID.
